The following is a list of all the classes we offer at Cascade Yoga Studio.

Gentle Yoga - Beginners
Students will increase stability and flexibility in every major muscle group. Every class will offer restorative yoga.

Back to Basics - Beginners
Our recommended class for students new to CYS. This class integrates the whole body by attending to basic alignment and deepening awareness of the breath. The room is heated between 72 and 75.

Beyond Basics - Intermediate
This intermediate class focuses on the fundamentals of Back to Basics while adding beginning arm balances, inversions, and advanced poses. In this meditative flow class students will enjoy holding poses to cultivate stability in the body and mind.

Vinyasa - Intermediate to Advanced
Develop proper alignment while flowing through advanced poses. Room is heated to 85-89 degrees. Challenge your mental edge and expand your spirit opening to new possibilities.

Pilates-Yoga Mix - All Levels
Both Pilates and yoga are sophisticated systems of integrated exercise. In this lunch time class come and enjoy the benefits of these complementary disciplines to help finish out your day feeling strong, centered, energized, and focused.

Pilates - All Levels
This class focuses on postural muscles, which help keep the body balanced and are essential for providing support to the spine. Pilates is a natural supplement to any yoga practice.

Ashtanga Primary Series
Ashtanga is the traditional form that other styles of flow practice derive from. Primary Series is the first in a series of six that is taught as a sequential set of poses. If you are working on one of the six series of the Ashtanga Vinyasa system then the poses will be the same if you are practicing here in Grand Rapids, Michigan, or around the world in Mysore, India. This class is led by certified Ashtanga teacher.

Kids' and Junior High Yoga -
Ages 5-12 and grades 5-8

Yoga for kids of all ages is a wonderful tool for developing self-esteem, concentration, and coordination as well as a great way to reduce stress and hormonal changes and build discipline. Yoga helps prevent sports injuries and create concentration, clarity, and focus for studies. Classes operate as sessions; please call the studio to register.
